I just love taking pics with my iPhone; it really is the most convenient camera ever and it takes a pretty good image, providing the light is adequate. I am forever checking out my friends’ photographs on Instagram (you might have noticed that I am pretty active on Instagram - I over share images of my boys on there all the time). I love how the iPhone makes it so simple for the average person to edit & share images.
I thought I would share with you some of the editing apps and print companies I use to get my iPhone pics off my phone and into my life. I strongly URGE you all to do the same. I am horrified when I hear friends and family talk about having 1000's of images on their phones that they have never backed up onto computers. Can you imagine if your phone was damaged, or worse still, stolen?
I use an app called VSCO to take the actual pic and then I do the majority of my editing with this app too. I love this app because it has some subtle effects and the black and white actions are pretty sweet.
Sometimes when I want to have even more control with editing my pics I use an app called Afterlight. This app uses sliders to edit your pics with, which is cool because you can add as little or as much of the effect as you like. I also use this app to add different frames to my images.
Obviously I share a lot of my pics on Instagram. If you like FB but could do without reading irrelevant crap all the time, then maybe Instagram is for you.
I use a company called Artifact Uprising for printing my iPhone images. The paper quality is great and I like the effect that printing on recycled paper gives.
I have heard that Origrami is also very good. Unfortunately neither of these print companies are Australian owned.
Once you have your images printed the fun really begins. There is a gazillion different ways you can display your images. Here is a peek at what we have in our house at the moment. I would love to see what everyone else is doing with their iPhone masterpieces.
